Every effort has been made on this website to present the situation regarding the Club and Local Government in a fully balanced way.  Naturally, it is presenting and highlighting the points which are threatening to destroy the Club and wipe Summerway Tennis out of existence, but it would be wrong to go over the top and use inflammatory language.  As the term  failure  is so prominent on the site, we have to ask:

Is it fair to use the word ‘Failure’ in relation to Local Government?

Nobody likes to be accused of failing, but ECC’s knee-jerk reaction to Jim is totally out of order if Local Government is guilty.  Jim argues, the huge waiting list for Club membership over many consecutive years indicated a community need. The Club’s plans for expansion were a response to that need, but the situation also required DCC/ECC, the Club’s partner in this provision, to respond as well.  Local Government failed to respond - a fully documented and established fact. Not only has Local Government failed in the past, but ECC is now failing the community by its ‘constructive eviction’ of the Club and depriving the community of volunteer services.
