Dear Review Manager,

+

Unitary Status Options Within Devon

+

Please confirm that my submissions regarding unitary councils in Devon have arrived safely.  They were two in number, emailed early and late Friday evening, 26th September.  Hopefully, the earlier version has been deleted, and the later one retained for rigorous assessment by the Boundary Committee.

+

Yours sincerely,

+

Jim Harle.

Subject: Why no reply?

+

Dear Review Manager,

+

I am becoming rather concerned.

+

Having requested confirmation of receipt only of my submission to the Boundary Committee at the end of last month, we have now reached the middle of October without a response.

+

I am surprised that the Boundary Committee email facility did not issue automatic confirmation of receipt.  My submission was the result of considerable investment of time and effort, and the views and concerns expressed are shared by other citizens in Exeter to my certain knowledge.

+

I hope that this review is not going to be a governmental stitch-up, with the views of the public dismissed without rigorous examination.

+

Please set my mind at rest.

+

Yours sincerely,

+

Jim Harle.

Dear Sir,

+

Thank you for your email.  I can confirm that both emails were received safely by the Boundary Committee, both sent on 26 September (timestamped 18:14 & 23:09).  I apologise for the lack response on your request for confirmation - I was unaware my colleague had not responded to your previous email.

+

Emails sent to the reviews@boundarycommittee.org.uk address are supposed to receive an automated reply to confirm receipt.  I do not know why this did not happen in your case, but I take up the issue with our IT department.

+

I apologise for any inconvenience caused in this matter, but I assure you that your representations have been logged and noted in line with all representations made regarding the Devon structural review.

+

Regards,

+

Megan Bayford
