It rather looked as though the Leisure Manager was determined to bury his head in the sand and ignore everything I have to say. This would be fully in accordance with his refusal to deal with me.
However, it transpires that the error message was very misleading. One of Ian Cowe’s colleagues has informed me that, “Ian Cowe left Exeter City Council some time ago.” I think it is rather sad that this former Exeter City Council officer should relinquish the post of Leisure Manager without satisfactory closure with the Summerway Junior LTC. It seems unfair to leave behind such damage to healthy children’s activity and the community for others to resolve.
Perhaps the City Council, which can cope with personalised ‘out of office’ messages, ought to create a more informative and helpful message when an officer leaves the Council’s employ.
