Somewhere, based in the Civic Centre, is a person or a group of persons giving the impression that the City Council is heartless and uncaring. Whether Officer(s), Councillor(s) or a mixture of both, who knows? They do, presumably, but to those outside the ivory tower it is a mystery. This person or group seems to be under the impression that the Summerway saga is all about parks and tennis courts. IT ISN’T! It is about youngsters, families and community, and this person is, or these persons are, doing untold damage to our children
Who is pulling the strings?
There are those who imagine that a Tennis Club is a group of privileged people enjoying an elite form of recreation in an exclusive environment. Some clubs may fit the description, but Summerway isn’t remotely like this. Those trying to gain financial profit for the Council are failing catastrophically to realise that Summerway is a service to be supported, working as it does amongst children who desperately need structure, constructive activity and adult guidance. It is wrong for ECC to leave them to their own devices and just throw material facilities at them, such as MUGAs, etc. Jim’s emails have alerted all Councillors, so there is no excuse for this situation.
