When this website was first created, it’s principal purpose was to encourage genuine and meaningful communication between Local Government and the Exeter (Summerway) Junior Lawn Tennis Club. Local Government’s withdrawal of support has made no sense to the Club’s volunteers, as the only losers are the children, their families and the local community. Events have revealed a matter of far greater consequence, so important that it eclipses even the survival of Summerway Tennis. It is posed by the following query:
How can we claim to live in a democracy when the people have neither choice nor voice?
This website deals with weighty issues which are not easily reduced to words of one or two syllables, and so requires a working knowledge of the English language and the ability to understand the arguments put forward by those involved. The vital significance of this query will become apparent as this website is developed and studied.
